Free private parking is available on site. If you are coming for a larger event, please coordinate your group’s arrival with us in advance.

The estate comprises historic buildings and different spaces. Please tell us in advance what support you need and which areas you would like to visit. We will discuss suitable access, routes and any room requirements before you book.

Yes, we would be happy to discuss a group lunch or dinner. Share the date, numbers of adults and children, and your wishes. We will agree the menu, space and practical arrangements in a proposal.

The King Room has a king-size bed. The Triple Room also has a single bed in a separate room, while the Quatro Room has two single beds in a separate room. The Junior Suite Familie has a king-size bed and a sofa bed for two children or one adult. Every room is individually furnished. Check the available options for your group when booking.

You will stay at De Kleine Motte, the accommodation building directly beside the château estate. The rooms are therefore not inside the château itself. Breakfast is served in the château’s brasserie.

De Kleine Motte has 17 rooms, each with its own character. For larger groups, another 46 rooms and suites are available at Château de Looz, at its own estate in Hoepertingen. We will discuss availability and travel between the two châteaux with you personally.

Check-in is from 3 to 9.30 pm. If you expect to arrive later, please contact us in advance. Follow the arrival and key collection instructions in your booking confirmation.

Booking.com lists check-out by 11 am for De Kleine Motte. Please check the departure time and any individual arrangements in your booking confirmation. A later departure must be agreed in advance.

Your stay includes a buffet breakfast in the château’s brasserie, from 8.30 to 10 am. Please also check the terms of your chosen booking. Dinner must be booked separately.

Rooms have a private bathroom with either a bath or a shower. If you have a preference, check the description of your chosen room type. Not every room has both a bath and a shower.

De Kleine Motte offers free Wi-Fi and an in-room television. Please discuss specific needs in advance, for example if you are planning an important online meeting during your stay.

Children of all ages are welcome. Family rooms are available. Enter your group details and children’s ages correctly when booking to see a suitable room and the applicable rate.

The Galazaal, Kleine Luikerpoort and Grote Luikerpoort are available for celebrations and meetings. The Pauwenzaal and Zwanenzaal are brasserie spaces for lunch or dinner. Published guide capacities vary by room: Galazaal 150 seated or 300 standing; Kleine Luikerpoort 50–70 seated or 100 standing; Grote Luikerpoort 80 seated or 160 standing; Pauwenzaal around 40 seated for lunch or dinner. We will agree numbers for the Zwanenzaal personally. Your layout, clear access routes, catering and programme determine the final capacity. The Zwanenzaal is available for private hire only as part of exclusive hire of the entire estate.

Ask us about the dimensions and floor area of the space you are interested in. We will confirm these along with a suitable layout. Guide capacities for a dinner or reception do not automatically apply to meetings.

Tell us which parts you would like indoors and outdoors, such as the reception, ceremony, dinner or drinks. We will explore what is possible on your date and discuss how the programme can work in less favourable weather.

Yes. For your wedding, the couple receives a complimentary overnight stay in one of our suites. We will arrange the suite and date personally. Rooms for other guests are discussed separately.

Absolutely. Bring the family together for lunch, a barbecue, dinner or a longer day on the estate. Tell us how many adults and children are coming, your preferred date and whether any guests would like to stay overnight. We will agree the space and programme with you.

You will receive a tailored proposal based on your date, guest numbers, space, menu, drinks and any overnight stays. Feel free to share an indicative budget so we can focus our ideas from the start. The proposal will set out the arrangements and what is included.

Yes. A barbecue or buffet gives the day a relaxed feel; a standing dinner lets guests enjoy small dishes and move easily between conversations. A seated menu gives everyone time to linger together. We will tailor dishes, drinks and dietary arrangements to your guests.

Haspengouw is ideal for walking and cycling between orchards and villages. Our regional guide offers specific ideas, including the Herk valley, the Stroopfabriek in Borgloon and the see-through church. Check current routes and visiting hours with the tourist offices listed.

You can combine your cycling trip with the brasserie or an overnight stay. Charging points for electric bikes are available on the estate; bring your own charger. If you are staying, please ask about bicycle storage in advance.

Château de Looz is our other château in Haspengouw, in Hoepertingen. Your event can take place across both venues: for example, a barbecue at Château de la Motte, a celebration at Château de Looz and overnight stays at both. De Kleine Motte has 17 rooms; Château de Looz has 46 rooms and suites. We will personally coordinate availability, timings and transport between the two addresses.

Usual hours are Sundays from 7 am to 1 pm. There is no market if 24, 25 or 31 December or 1 January falls on a Sunday. Check the latest visitor information before setting off. Combine your visit with a weekend at Château de la Motte.

Outdoor stalls fill the historic centre, with covered stalls in the Julianus complex and its car park. The market takes place in both summer and winter.

Yes, Château de la Motte has charging points for electric bikes on the estate. Bring your own charger and ask us where to plug in when you arrive.

Our cycling page features selected Visit Limburg routes, with distances, difficulty levels and official starting points. You can also create your own route from Groot-Gelmen using Limburg’s numbered junction planner. The ride from the château to join an existing loop is additional to the loop’s stated distance.
