Erik will personally discuss the room, timing and arrangements with you. From coffee and refreshments to a shared meal, we will tailor everything to your wishes and the number of guests.

For lunch or dinner, we can also consider the brasserie. The Zwanenzaal is available for private hire only as part of exclusive hire of the entire estate.

One more glass after dinner, without everyone having to head straight home. De Kleine Motte’s 17 rooms are beside the château estate. For a larger group, Château de Looz in Hoepertingen also offers 46 rooms and suites.
Your celebration can even bring both châteaux together: a barbecue at Château de la Motte, more celebrating at Château de Looz and overnight stays at both venues. We will discuss availability, room allocation and travel together.

Can we hold a family reunion at Château de la Motte?+
Absolutely. Bring the family together for lunch, a barbecue, dinner or a longer day on the estate. Tell us how many adults and children are coming, your preferred date and whether any guests would like to stay overnight. We will agree the space and programme with you.
Can we arrange a reception after a funeral?+
Yes. We welcome family and loved ones for a funeral reception at Château de la Motte, with space to share memories and be together. Erik will personally discuss your preferred day, guest numbers, room and arrangements.
How can we arrange a funeral reception at short notice?+
Call +32 (0)11 48 10 86 to discuss the options. With a date, an approximate time and an estimated number of guests, we can check which room is available. Together, we will arrange refreshments, food, dietary requirements and the practical details.
How much does a celebration or family reunion cost?+
You will receive a tailored proposal based on your date, guest numbers, space, menu, drinks and any overnight stays. Feel free to share an indicative budget so we can focus our ideas from the start. The proposal will set out the arrangements and what is included.
Can we choose a barbecue, buffet, standing dinner or seated dinner?+
Yes. A barbecue or buffet gives the day a relaxed feel; a standing dinner lets guests enjoy small dishes and move easily between conversations. A seated menu gives everyone time to linger together. We will tailor dishes, drinks and dietary arrangements to your guests.
How can we make a family celebration suitable for children?+
Tell us how many children are coming and their ages. We can then discuss suitable meals, seating and the pace of the day. Please request a cot or other facilities in advance; we will confirm what is available.
Can we combine indoor and outdoor spaces?+
Tell us which parts you would like indoors and outdoors, such as the reception, ceremony, dinner or drinks. We will explore what is possible on your date and discuss how the programme can work in less favourable weather.
What should we consider for guests with reduced mobility?+
Please tell us in advance about your guests’ accessibility needs. We will discuss the chosen room, the route from the car park, toilet facilities and any bedrooms, so we can confirm suitability before you commit.
Can we make a weekend of our family reunion?+
You can combine your celebration with an overnight stay, subject to availability. De Kleine Motte has 17 rooms beside the château estate. Château de Looz offers another 46 rooms and suites at its own estate in Hoepertingen. We will coordinate room allocation, timings and any transport between the two addresses with you.
Can we bring our own decorations, music or suppliers?+
Please discuss your wishes with us in advance, including suppliers, set-up, clearing away and music. We will agree what is possible and the practical arrangements for your room and programme. All plans require prior agreement.
